End of Watch: April 23, 2011
Deputy Clifton Taylor was shot and killed after he and other deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near Venus shortly after 4 pm.
Upon arriving at the scene deputies began searching for the male suspect. Deputy Taylor was shot as he opened the door to a shed located on the property. The other deputies returned fire, killing the suspect.
 Deputy Taylor was transported to JPS hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Deputy Taylor had served with the Sheriff's Department for three years. He is survived by his fiancee, parents and siblings.
| Larry Dale Stephens Joshua Fire Fighter End of Watch: February 14, 1984 Joshua fire fighter Larry Stephens was killed in the line of duty while battling a brush fire. Mr. Stephens was injured on February 11, and passed away from his injuries on February 14.

End of Watch: December 29, 1987
Officer Janice Vanderveer was struck and killed by a vehicle while setting up road flares. She is survived by her husband, son, daughter and parents.

George Alvin Robinson Jr.

End of Watch: February 11, 1971
Deputy Robinson was killed in an accident when his patrol car collided with a mule as he responded to an emergency call.
The collision caused his car to leave the roadway, landing in some other nearby wrecked cars, causing it to be not easily be seen. After Deputy Robinson failed to respond to radio calls, other deputies were sent to look for him. The accident scene was found several hours later.
Deputy Robinson had served with the Sheriff's Department for only a few months. He was survived by his wife.
